Turn Off ‘Auto Play Videos’ Feature In App Store Of iOS 11 – A How To Guide

The new iOS 11 is expected to come with many great new features. In fact, there are a lot of them revealed already with the iOS 11 betas that have been released so far. But do you really like all those features that you have come across by now? Probably not! One thing that many of the iOS users are getting annoyed with is the ‘Auto Play Videos’that plays videos automatically in your revamped App Store. If you are also using a developer beta or public beta of the software then you must be very much aware of this thing that we are talking about here.

To be fortunate, if you are using iOS 11 beta 3 or later, it is possible for you to turn this feature off to make sure that any videos do not play automatically as you scroll through different apps in App Store. So, without adding further excitement to it, let’s dive straight into how you can disable those videos running in the App Store.

Turn Off ‘Auto Play Videos’In iOS 11 App Store

Here are the steps that you will have to follow in order to turn off ‘Auto Play videos’ in iOS 11 App Store.

    1. Though a no-brainer, you will have to be using iPhone/iPad running latest iOS 11 beta for disabling the feature on your iOS device.
    2. On your iOS 11 device, launch Settings application.
    3. Scroll down the Settings screen to discover the section labeled ‘iTunes & App Store’. Once you find it, tap to continue.
    4. You’ll instantly be able to find the new ‘Auto Play Videos’ feature right there. The default value against it will be set to ‘ON’. Tap it and reveal further options i.e. “ON”, “Off”, “Wi-Fi Only”.
    5. You can choose the “Wi-Fi Only” option if you intend these videos to auto play only when you are using a Wi-Fi connection to browse through the App Store on your device.
    6. But if you don’t want to auto play those videos at all, choose “Off” and the feature will be turned off until you turn it on back again the next time. Remember that the videos will still play in App Store but only when you will manually choose to do so but nothing will play automatically.

So, it is a relatively smaller, yet very welcoming, addition to the iOS 11. The option, however, is only available in iOS 11 beta 3 or later and can’t be accessed in initial couple of betas. So, we can say that iOS 11 is getting refined with every new beta that is released to developers and the public testers and we can really expect the final version of iOS 11 that will be released to public to be equipped with great new features and capabilities. In fact, these small refinements will really go a long way in enhancing user experience with the final version. Try this new little option if you seriously don’t like those annoying auto-playing videos in App Store.
